Why rattan furniture’s price is different from different suppliers?

Many B2B buyers will wonder why the quotation is so different even based on the same design. So for rattan furniture. It combines frames, powder-coating, sewing cushions, rattan weaving, and packaging.

1. The frame material price is different.

The frames usually will be iron and aluminum. First of all, these two materials are already price difference when buying the raw material. Let’s take a look at the current price for aluminum and iron. Aluminum costs more than iron material. It’s just the raw material difference. The second point is about the thickness and shape of the frame. For a rattan seating chair, usually, the thickness frame will be 1.2mm. Some suppliers will offer a 1.0mm thickness frame to control the product cost. The different shapes of the frame tube also affect the product price. There are square tubes, round tubes, cone tubes, and other tube shapes. The third point is about the surface process. Basically, the factory will make powder coating on the frame either it’s aluminum or it’s iron. But for the iron frame, you’d better consider adding an electrophoresis process before making powder coating. Ad the frame will be all covered with a weaving rattan, so it has a lower requirement for the powder material. The powder price is also lower than the exterior use powder. So when you received a quotation, you need to check out the main frame material and thickness.

2. The rattan material price is different.

PE rattan is also called synthetic rattan. It’s made from plastic. Synthetic rattan is made from man-made fibers that are stronger and more durable than natural rattan, while still having the same look and feel. These fibers are woven in the same way as real rattan but are usually coated with UV additives and polyethylene resin (PE) to resist fading and abrasion. You may also have heard “resin wicker” or “plastic rattan” used to describe artificial rattan. Remember that real rattan is made from natural abaca thread (palm). It’s absolutely beautiful, no doubt, but because it’s a very delicate material, it’s not practical for outdoor use.

Therefore, man-made fibers are a wiser choice. Manufacturers generally use polyethylene to produce artificial rattan, so it can be made more durable. Remember, wicker is also a method of weaving – not a material! So when you hear wicker furniture, it doesn’t necessarily mean a real rattan chair or rattan table. PE rattan has different sizes and shapes, and so as its price. For example, there are 8*1.2mm, 10*1.2mm, 12*1.2mm, and other different sizes. It’s easier and faster for the worker to finish weaving by using a larger size. Of course, the smaller size finished weaving appearance would be much better looking. That’s why a small size costs much more than a larger size. The rattan price is also relevant to its plastic material. A good rattan material will use 100% new plastic raw material. So it’s important you check with your supplier about the warranty for the rattan material. We offer two years – five years warranty for rattan material. 3. The cushion price is different.

The cushion includes two-part. One is the sponge or foam, the other one is the fabric. For outdoor use, it’s better to use a quick dry foam. It’s dry faster than normal foam. But it also has its disadvantages. QDF can’t be added as a fire-retardant material. For some project orders such as beach use or hotel use outdoor furniture, the buyer will require a fire-resistant cushion on the inquiry. The normal sponge is widely used in indoor and outdoor areas. The sponge has two specifications: hardness and thickness. We use a 5cm cushion on the dining set and a 10-15cm cushion on the sofa set. The fabric is also very important. There are polyester, acrylic, olefin, and sling fabric for outdoor use. We offer 800-2000 hours of color fastness to light fabric cover. The most well know the brand is Sunbrella and Sunproof. 4. The package way price is different.

If you are an offline seller, you can choose a normal package from the factory. If you are an online seller, you will need to ask for a carton package and pay attention to its size and weight. It will affect the shipping cost when you deliver to the end customer.

5. How to maintain rattan furniture?

First, use a handheld vacuum or brush to remove dust and grime. You can then remove stubborn dirt or debris with a toothbrush, toothpick, or another fine implement. Using a bowl of warm soapy water or a garden hose, wash away all dirt and debris, then scrub thoroughly. Pass a soft cloth and use it to clean the resin surface. Finally, allow the rinsed garden furniture to dry completely outdoors, in the sun, or in a well-ventilated area.
